Mercer Geriatric Research Award for 2017

We are pleased to announce that the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (CHM) Office of Research will provide one $1,500 research award from the Mercer Endowment to a CHM student involved in mentored geriatrics research to support research expenses and/or travel to a research conference to present their findings. The awardee will be honored at the CHM Scholarship Banquet in April 2017.
This is a competitive process and requires that the successful applicant be involved in research related to geriatrics, i.e. the causes, treatments, and cures for age-related diseases and conditions through study of aging processes and age-related diseases. The award can be used for research-related supplies and services, conference fees and travel, publication fees/poster expenses for national/international conferences for which the awardee is listed as the first author. Award funds are not intended to be used for software or tuition support.
CHM students from all campuses in good academic standing are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students from the Lansing and Flint CHM campuses. Late submissions will not be considered.
Terms of Award
The award will be announced no later than March 30, 2017. The student will receive up to $1,500 for research expenses or travel- and conference-related expenses based on a pre-approved budget.
Award Impact on Financial Aid
Funds will be expended for project expenses which does not affect financial aid.
